PYROTECH BEI is a Forensic Engineering company i.e. a company that specialises in the determination of origin and cause of accidents. We are looking for hard working individuals that are members of the OIQ with at least 5 years of experience in their field.  As Forensic engineers, you will be called upon to conduct physical examinations of accident sites, examine exhibits and conduct tests as well as write reports as to the origin and cause of accidents and failures.  On occasion, you will be called upon to testify in court as an Expert Witness.

We are currently looking for 1 Forensic Engineer in Civil Engineering for the region of Montreal. 

Responsibilities
  • Conduct investigations to determine of the origin and cause of losses in the following areas:
    • Defects, construction
    • Structural failures
    • Unwanted water ingress
    • Soil movement unsecuences, drainage, flooding, and sewer problems
  • Make observations and surveys of on accident sites;
  • Conduct studies, simulations and analyses of defects;
  • Evaluate the compliance with standards, codes and regulations;
  • Provide technical advice to our clients;
  • Maintain good business relations with our clients and participate in various public relations activities;
  • Conduct laboratory tests to validate hypotheses concerning the origin and cause of losses;
  • Prepare expert reports and act as an expert witness in court.
Profile
  • Bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in Civil Engineering (structure, design, and construction);
  • Minimum relevant experience of 5 years;
  • Member in good standing of the Order of Engineers of Québec;
  • Member in good standing of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English, both orally and in writing;
  • Working knowledge of standards and the National Building Code (NBC);
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information;
  • Good organization and priorities management skills;
  • Very good skills in technical writing;
  • Able to work under pressure;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Your achievements and your experience will be considered as important assets;
  • You have a valid driver's license.
