In 2007, Claude Létourneau joined the multidisciplinary Pyrotech BEI team as a forensic engineer. In 1990, he graduated from École polytechnique de Montréal in Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining Pyrotech BEI, Claude had worked for 17 years as a forensic engineer in the same field.
In the course of 23 years in the field of fires and explosions, Claude has investigated more than 2,000 incidents. He has been recognized as an expert witness at many judicial levels in a number of Canadian provinces. He has also conducted numerous investigations in cases involving devices and installation using natural gas, propane and fuel oil.
Claude is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) and the Order of Engineers of Ontario (PEO). Since 2003, he has held the title of Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI). He also holds a class one certificate of qualification in Gas Appliance conferred by Emploi Québec.
In his spare time, Claude is passionate about traveling off the beaten tracks as well as wildlife photography and outdoor activities.
