The history of electric vehicles began earlier than many believe, as early as in the nineteenth century! Indeed, some historians mention that Scotsman Robert Anderson would have invented an electric car in 1830. Then, in 1835, in Groningen, Netherlands, Sibrandus Stratingh would have developed an experimental electric car on a small scale. In the late 1800s, in Europe, Electrical Engineers Gustave Trouvé (France, 1881) and Thomas Parker (England, 1895) left their mark by offering electric cars that could carry several passengers. The famous Ferdinand Porsche, founder of the Porsche (1931) and Volkswagen (1937) brands, unveiled the Egger Lohner C2 Phaeton P1 in 1898, which was powered by two electric wheel motors.
Sudden damage to a building structure can pose a significant risk to the public. Thus, whether the damage appears following a fire, a vehicle impact or inadequate construction works, the subsidence or partial collapse of a building necessitates a rapid preliminary assessment of the structure to identify the extent and cause of the failure of the building structure. If possible, the building will be stabilized to secure the site. This assessment will limit the development of damage and implement the necessary measures to ensure the safety of users and the public.
When an assessment is conducted to determine which protection should be installed, it becomes necessary to consider the characteristics of the fuses so that they can function effectively and safely. The characteristics in question are the types of fuses and their breaking capacity. Note that the breaking capacity is also one of the essential characteristics to consider for circuit breakers, which is the other main device that can be used to protect an electrical circuit.
